Book Talk ~ Sand, Surf and Summer Reads. Oh and a few FREE books.

Oh, Those Lazy Day of Summer!

Whoever coined that phrase wasn’t a Woman, because we women seldom have a Lazy Day in any season, though we often find time to read a good  book. Today I’m introducing you to a few of my favorite Sweet Romance Authors. It’s a myth that we write sappy, cutesy love stories a la Barbara Cartland ~ innocent eighteen-year-old heroines falling in love with an older man, usually an angry Duke of this or that living Rich in some exotic locale. We’re creating stories about women with real issues who want to fall in love with a good man. A well written love story never goes out of style. Some have a little mystery. Some have a bit of paranormal. Some are full of emotional drama, others laugh-out-loud funny. All are H.E.A.

Some of us have been writing romance novels for more than thirty years, some much less, but are carrying on the tradition of HEA with wonderful supercilious stories that fans name “Keepers;” those books that they’ll read over and over again.  Starting you off with a book by an author who is actually a native of one of those exotic locales.

Meet Effrosyni Moschoudi who lives in the Greek Isles. We call her FrostieMoss. She ‘lives’ Greek history and myths and those find their way into her love stories.  Frossie is offering her Amazon BreakThrough Award novel The EBB for 99c: Would you trust a ghost to help you find true love?  Sofia Aspioti, a young student who yearns to break free from the supervision of her loving yet over-protective family, falls in love with Danny, a larger-than-life British tourist, during her summer holiday on the Greek island of Corfu. Then, strange dreams about a woman dressed in black lamenting a love lost begin to haunt her… Keep up with Frossie in the Greek Isles on Twitter: https://twitter.com/frostiemoss?lang=en

My long-time friend, USA Today Bestselling Author Donna Fasano is offering you for only 99c a Duet of full-length sweet Romance Novels, Falling for a Single Mom. Remember what I said? We women seldom have a lazy day. Donna treats us to a pair of single moms too busy to find love on their own. Fate gives Julia and Lainey a little help because single moms need and deserve affection, caring and support from a goodhearted, loving man. From the very first pages of these two books, you will relate to Julia and Lainey. Impossible not to, but still there’s the consideration of their children; feeding, clothing, sheltering and keeping them from harm. ~ Keep up with Donna on Twitter: https://twitter.com/DonnaFaz

Introducing you now to Magdelena Scott, a new writer for me. You will adore her sweet romance. Don’t think sticky honey. Emily’s Dreams  has Emily Kincaid facing a whole host of issues once she comes out of a coma from a terrible auto crash. As Emily learns to navigate her world again, long-time family friend and confirmed bachelor is by her side. He’s older, cosmopolitan, a friend. But a voice in her head keeps giving her advice as do her sisters, her grandmother and the voice. Emily places David out of her reach. Yet there’s magic in the voice and David seems to know exactly what he wants. An utterly charming and heart warming treat for only 99c. Oh My! Here’s a fun, sweet, passionate and oh so different romance: Detective Mika Pensive is off for a weekend away on the Greek islands in a last-ditch effort to salvage a bad relationship. NOT happening. The boyfriend is DEAD. Mika’s new partner is an android cop, scorned as a Toaster. So what if he’s an android. He’s fearless, hot, funny and attentive. And he’s learning what he’s not programmed for–loving. A Heaven for Toasters is more than a sci-fi crime adventure with plenty of romance and wit. It’s the book that will make you look at your toaster in a whole new way. [As long as it doesn’t burn the toast]. 99c.  Follow Nicholas Rossis on Twitter, Keep up with good stuff. https://twitter.com/Nicholas_Rossis.

Now let me tell you about Lyn Cote’s sweet Romance: Only Her Heart. Caring, hardworking, Annie   Petrov is about to quit the job she loves. From day one she’s been in love with her computer-genius boss, Jack Lasater, who–grasps intricate code and computer security but hasn’t a clue about people. He has a built in emotional firewall. Annie decides it’s time to hack that firewall herself. After working for Jack for years, she hopes her people skills can reach him.  Or it’s Good-bye, Jack.  99c.  Find Lyn on Twitter: https://twitter.com/lyncotewriter

  8. Robyn M Ryan says:

Loved the photo of the St. Augustine pier on your newsletter. We vacationed there every summer with our family and our cousins. (12 kids, 4 adults, 1 bathgroom, no AC, no TV and we loved it!) Walking to the pier and picking up tiny sand dollars (sand dimes) was a daily treat…loved that old beach house! One of my cousin’s and our family vacation now in a less-crowded area south of St. Augy and north of Daytona. Happy place! I’m looking forward to reading All Tomorrow’s Memories!

    ~ Robyn

    • Jackie Weger says:

Robyn. I love St. Augustine. I lived there the best dozen plus years of my life. Right in the Historic District. I’ve spent many an hour on the pier. Happy Hour in all of the bars from one end to another with my friends. We all miss the Columbia Restaurant. It’s built up so much in the past 20 years. xoxox Jackie
